HUNTER VALLEY

Things to do and see.

The Hunter Valley is the perfect place to explore country byways, put up your feet and indulge in fine food and wine. Scenic drives past endless rows of gnarly vines are a given, so are sweeping views of lush farmland with grazing cattle and mobs of kangaroos, and sundowners as the sun sets behind the rugged Brokenback Range.

Ask any local and they’ll ply you with a hit list of must-do experiences longer than your arm. Everything from tutored wine-tastings and boutique brews to cooking classes, championship golf and spa treatments. And did we mention the festivals, award-winning restaurants and hot-air balloon flights?

What are you waiting for? Come, discover what this magical region has to offer.

Hot air ballooning

Fly high above the Hunter Valley. There’s no better way to see the vineyards and countryside than up in a Hot Air Balloon.

Wine

Our winemakers believe only the best will do – that’s why we call them fussy bastards! In the Hunter, it’s quality over quantity – full stop.

They’re justifiably proud of the Hunter’s rich wine heritage that stretches back some 180 years and our flagship Hunter Valley Semillon and Shiraz, which captures the spirit of our place in a bottle. But we also have dozens of other varieties for tasting in the 150 wineries dotted around our rolling green hills.

And while they’re fussy, our winemakers are also very friendly and fun-loving. Come, meet them and taste a slice of wine history.
